Terms of Service

Last updated: July 2026

1. Agreement to Terms

These Terms of Service ("Terms") are entered into between you and TapQ(the "Company", "we", "us", or "our"). By accessing or using TapQ at tapq.app(the "Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you disagree with any part of these Terms, you may not use the Service.

2. Description of Service

TapQ is a software-as-a-service (SaaS) platform for paperless digital queue management. The Service enables users to:

  • Create digital waiting lines for walk-in businesses
  • Share QR codes and join links so customers receive digital tokens
  • Let customers track queue position from their phone (no customer app required)
  • Manage call-next, counters, services, and live displays from a web dashboard

Features, limits, and pricing may change during beta. Trial queues include a 7-day trial and up to 100 customers unless upgraded. We reserve the right to modify, suspend, or discontinue any part of the Service at any time.

3. Account Registration and Security

To access certain features you may register for an account. When you register (including via Google sign-in), you agree to:

  • Provide accurate and complete information
  • Maintain the security of your password or linked account
  • Accept responsibility for activity under your account and authorized devices
  • Notify us promptly of unauthorized use of your account

Keep admin access codes confidential. Protect queues to an account when you need recovery across devices. Unprotected anonymous queues may be unrecoverable if original browser data is lost.

4. Subscription Plans and Billing

TapQ may offer free and paid plans with different limits. By subscribing you agree to pay applicable fees. Payments, when enabled, are processed by our billing partner (Polar). Subscriptions renew automatically at the interval shown at checkout until you cancel.

You may cancel anytime from your account billing portal. After cancellation, paid plan limits remain available until the end of the current billing period, then your account returns to free limits.

Fees are generally non-refundable for unused time in a billing period. If you believe you were charged in error, contact info@tapq.app within 14 days of the charge and we will review it. Nothing in these Terms limits rights that cannot be waived under applicable consumer law.

5. Acceptable Use

You agree not to use the Service to:

  • Violate any law or third-party rights
  • Engage in abusive, fraudulent, or harmful activity
  • Attempt to access another business's queues or customer data without authorization
  • Interfere with the Service, including abuse of rate limits or security controls

Queue operators must comply with applicable privacy and data protection laws (including GDPR where it applies) when collecting customer information on the join form. Operators are typically the controller of guest join data; TapQ processes that data to provide the Service. See our Privacy Policy (Section 8 — GDPR and Data Protection Measures) for the technical and organisational measures we have taken.

6. Customer Join Flow

Customers join queues voluntarily without creating a TapQ account and may leave while waiting. Queue operators control which fields are collected and how that data is used at their location. Live displays show token and counter status — not full customer join-form details.

7. Intellectual Property

The Service, including software, design, and branding, is owned by TapQ and its licensors. You retain rights to content you submit (such as business names and join-form data) and grant us a license to host and process it solely to provide the Service.

8. Availability

We aim for high availability but do not guarantee uninterrupted service. Beta features may change or be withdrawn without notice.

9. Disclaimer and Limitation of Liability

The Service is provided "as is" to the maximum extent permitted by law. TapQ is not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from use of the Service, including lost profits, data loss, or business interruption, except where prohibited by law.

10. Termination

We may suspend or terminate access if you violate these Terms or misuse the Service. You may stop using the Service at any time and may permanently delete your account from the Account page (which deletes owned queues and cancels billing when configured). Provisions that by nature should survive (including liability limits and intellectual property) will survive termination.

11. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. Material changes will be posted on this page with an updated date. Continued use after changes take effect constitutes acceptance.
